Illustrator Anjana Iyer’s goal is to take words that do not translate word for word into English and illustrate them.
When I found this on Bored Panda, I knew I had to share it with all of you. It encompasses my love of art and language in a really neat way.
I had to pin the illustration for Fernweh onto Pinterest so that I could find it easily whenever I wanted. I’ve experienced fernweh most of my life for Venice. There’s this little ache in my heart when I look at image of Venice. I dream about it all the time, wandering the streets, exploring the canals, needless to say I plan on visiting there in the future. But it is really nice to have a word that encapsulates that feeling.
