40 Common Internet Acronyms You Should Know

Thursday, March 9th, 2017 by | Filed Under: Computer Terms, Uncategorized, Using The Internet

Today we will take a look at the ever-growing lexicon of common Internet acronyms. Acronyms are not the same thing as abbreviations. Acronyms are comprised of the initials of two or more words (e.g. LOL for Lough Out Loud, PC for Personal Computer), whereas abbreviation is the short form of a single word (e.g. Approx. for Approximately). You will come across acronyms in almost every domain of the internet: from social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to any website, blogs or forums and even emails! So it is really cool if we are familiar with these.
