5 Excellent Sources for Free PC And Online Games

Wednesday, August 20th, 2014 by | Filed Under: Free Downloads

Have you ever wanted to play a new PC game, but just didn’t have the money to spend right now? While you’re not likely to find the latest hot titles for free, you can find some amazing games that cost absolutely nothing. From first person shooters to arcade games, these five sources offer something for everyone. These aren’t just simple, cutesy flash games, but games for both casual and hard core gamers alike.

Before you download or try to play any games from these sites, read any provided system requirements, age restrictions and reviews. This will ensure you find the right games for you and your current computer system. Some games are only available to play online, while some may need to be downloaded to play.

If you’re into MMORPGs, this site could become your new favorite hangout. Not only does it provide a forum, blog and giveaways, but it’s regularly updated with the latest MMORPGs, including free ones. At the time of writing, the site currently had 56 free titles listed. Please note some of these are free to play up to a specific level or they may offer both a free and premium version. Each game has a user rating to give you an idea of how popular they are.

Kongregate has been around since 2007 and is now owned by Gamestop. It’s the host to over 80,000 free games. From MMOs and strategy and defense to zombie and puzzles, the site truly has something for everyone. You’re encouraged to create a free account to earn badges, chat with other members and show off your progress. There’s even a section for mobile games so you never have to stop playing. You will need the latest version of Adobe Flash for many of the games.

New Grounds

New Grounds is a little different from the others on this list. The entire site is a community of developers, artists and designers creating amazing games, audio and video for your enjoyment. Each section of the site is always being updated. The games section alone has nine different categories to choose from. It’s easy to find something to enjoy here. Both casual and more hard core gamers should feel right at home.

Big Fish Games

Big Fish Games offers a variety of free and paid games. You’ll find games for desktop, online and mobile. Odds are, casual gamers will enjoy this site. I recommend checking out the Download Games and Online Games on the homepage. These lists usually include the most popular free games on the site. If you want to buy games, the site does offer daily discounts and bundle packaging to help you save.

Addicting Games

While Addicting Games is more geared towards teens, it’s hard not to find at least a few extremely addictive games for all ages. There’s even a section specifically for girls. New games are being added all the time. You’ll find a combination of classic, adorable and more recent games. From strategy to funny, you just might spend more time browsing the games than playing for the first few days.

Bonus Sites

If you can’t find something you like on these sites, you might want to try a few of these bonus sources. From MMOs to simple flash games, these sites have extensive catalogs. Some other great sources include Armor Games, PopCap, FOG, Funcom and Candy Stand. The last site also has high score contest to earn free gift cards. Between these 10 sites, you’ll have more than enough to keep you occupied for years to come.

My favorite games to play are Hidden Objects. Any sites where I can get free downloads offline?

Can not vouch for the other game sites but have bought and downloaded games from Bigfish for years with no problems. They even set up their own app so that any game you down load is right there. They also keep track of all you have bought and you can go to their web site to re down load them if anything happens. I like to play Adventure and Hidden object games mostly. Great site. Any game on their site will let you down load a demo to see if you like the game.
