Adobe has issued what they are calling “critical” updates for all versions of Flash Player for Windows, Mac, Linux and Android. The updates address security weaknesses that could crash your computer and allow a hacker to take control of the system.
One kind of attack tricks the user into opening a Microsoft Word document delivered as an email attachment. This attachment contains malicious Flash content. There are also reports of attacks on content hosted on websites that target Flash Player in Firefox and Safari on the Mac platform.
Adobe says Flash users should immediately update to the newest version of Flash by going to the Adobe Update Center.
