I grew up on Little Women. We read the books and we watched every adaptation.
When I ran across this site where you can take a virtual tour of Orchard House where Louisa May Alcott wrote Little Women I knew I had to share it with all of you! I might explode if I don’t tell someone about its existence.
When you arrive at the site you’ll be on the introductory page to the tour. You’ll learn all about the house. I was amazed that there have been little to no structural changes to the building since the Alcotts lived there.
To view the house you’ll click the Tour the Rooms link. This will take you to a page with a menu with each room listed. When you click one it will load in a pop-up window. You’ll see an image of the room and learn about the room itself in the description.
Back on the Tour the House page you’ll also find a link to the panoramas. I’m so glad these exist because the images of the rooms were kind of small. You’ll need the QuickTime Player to view them. If it’s not installed already on your system it will direct you to where you can download and install it for free. I couldn’t get them to load at all in Chrome. Hopefully, you can get them to load!
I’ve added Orchard House to the list of places I’d like to see. Go check it out for yourself today!
