I am in love with this site. I absolutely detest shopping for household items. It is so annoying to have to run out to buy toilet paper or laundry detergent. Mostly because you have to price what’s on sale, see if you have any coupons, see if it is cheaper somewhere else – what a hassle!
Alice provides you with a different way to buy the regular staples of your household; they keep track of it for you, and can even help you save money with instant coupons you can apply to the products you’re buying. Best of all they offer this service to you for free (the catch is that you have to buy at least 6 products at time, although your first time you may order less) and with free shipping that gets the products you’ve ordered to your door in 1 to 4 days.
Watch the videos they’ve provided on the main page, and you can learn all about how Alice works, and even get some feedback from people using their service. You’ll find them under the heading See Alice in Action, once you’ve decided to take the plunge click the Start Your Free Account button.
The first step in registering is to tell them who is in your household. Click the pick me button for your gender, and then add any other household members. For example, I chose the Adult Female over 18 and then beneath her, changed the number in the box to two. Then I clicked Continue. Now you’re going to go through a list of products and denote what things your family uses. Click Continue, and then fill out the form with your name, e-mail address, create a password, provide your birth date (for birthday deals!), and zip code. Then you’ll click the Start My Free Account button.
You can get started right away, by adding products to your list, so that you can just click and go at a later date. Or you can start your first purchase if it’s time for your shopping anyway.
I love the way you can keep track of what your households spends, the budgeting section will let you compare your average purchases with the communities. The Advanced Planning section will let you setup how often you run out of items, so that Alice can remind you that you’re close to that date and to order more.
I think that this is an excellent tool if you watch what you’re buying. If you’re out shopping and there’s a stellar deal on dish soap or toilet paper and you pick it up you can always not purchase it through Alice that month. I know that I’m going to be using Alice a lot in the future to save myself precious time and money.
