Amazon Could Hike Prime Fees To $119 Per Year

Rising fuel costs could cause Amazon to hike the price of Amazon Prime by up to $40 a year.

Right now the company charges $79 for Prime, which includes the Instant Video library, the Kindle Owners Lending Library and free two-day delivery on selected items.  The Prime program has tens of millions of members, but that’s translated into rising costs for the company, due to the rising cost of shipping. Users could pay closer to $120 a yer for the service, though the amount of the increase has not yet been determined.

Amazon has already raised the minimum for free shipping for non-Prime members to $35 per order.
