Android – Set Up Call Rejection Messages

It happens – you’re driving, shoveling snow, or in a heated argument with your significant other over who played “Higgins” on Magnum P.I.. Whatever the case, sometimes you just can’t tear yourself away to take a call.

Don’t worry, Android’s OS has got you covered with a host of call rejection text messages! You can even add your own!

Let’s take a look:

Tap your Settings Icon>Call>Set up call rejection messages

You’ll see a list of pre-made messages you can use, but at the top you’ll also see an option to “create“.

If you tap it, you’re taken to a screen where you can use the keyboard to input whatever message you’d like.

Keep in mind, however, that you’re limited to 6 rejection message at a time – this is to make it easier for you to choose something when you’re doing something involved, like driving*.

Want more space for messages? Just tap and hold on the message and you’ll be given a choice to Edit or Delete!

Neat!!

I tried to set up those messages in my phone, but I couldn’t find the place for rejecting calls in my Settings – I have an HTC One S and I believe I am updated to Jellybean – I go to Settings Icon>Call then there is no Set up call rejection messages – Am I doing something wrong?

  2. James says:

On my Samsung Proclaim (SCH-S720C) I have to go to setting then call settings then Ignore with message…and there are no presets.

  3. Tom says:

    Not on my andriod v 4.1.2 Pantech ADR910L either. :o (
