There’s a new shiny, red Apple on the block. The tech giant showed off a brightly-colored new iPhone, available in both iPhone 7 and 7 Plus models. The (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition phone was created to celebrate the 10-year partnership between Apple and the AIDS charity RED.
Apple CEO Tim Cook said, “Since we began working with (RED) 10 years ago, our customers have made a significant impact in fighting the spread of AIDS through the purchase of our products, from the original iPod nano (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition all the way to today’s lineup of Beats products and accessories for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.”
Apple is the largest Corporate donor to the charity, having contributed more than $130 million. A portion of the profits from this new model will go to the charity.
The new models will be available for a limited time only. The phones will be offered in both 32GB and 128GB models with a starting price of $749 and ranging to $969 for the 256GB 7 Plus.
If you’d like a slightly less expensive alternative for a more colorful phone, there are also seven new colors of iPhone cases available in azure, camellia, pebble, taupe, sapphire, and berry. The cases start at $35.
