A Great Gift for Kids - At A Great Price!

We just received another shipment of the Fisher-Price Little People Christmas Activity Center! This is an extremely well done (and very cute) kids title. We have it for only $6.97, with FREE shipping if you live in the US. It's been selling extremely well, so we wanted to mention it here in the newsletter.

It includes 10 different activities - everything from decorating a Christmas tree to making a snowman. In addition, you can also use it to create holiday cards, gift tags, and wrapping paper. It even has 5 sing-along songs! Becky, my 5 year old daughter, played with it all evening! I guess I could have done without that sing along part, but she had fun :-)

This would be an excellent stocking stuffer, or even a fun gift for before Christmas. Again, this is only $6.97 and includes Free Shipping if you live in the US - and it's from Fisher-Price, so you know it's gonna be good.

Q:
Is there a way to empty my deleted e-mails from the Deleted Items bin all at once or do I have to do it just one at a time?

A:
Sounds like you're using Outlook or Outlook Express. If that's the case, just right-click the Deleted Items bin, Empty Deleted Items Folder. That'll do it. Most e-mail clients work in a very similar fashion - if they use a recycle bin type folder like Outlook Express does.

However - if your e-mail program doesn't have that handy little right-click-and-empty feature there may still be hope. Go into the Deleted Items folder (or the equivalent for your software) and hit CTRL-A. That should select everything in that folder. From there, just hit Delete.

What if you want to keep your deleted stuff that's less than, say, one week old? Well, you can do that too. Click the oldest message and scroll down to the last one you want to remove. Next, hit your Shift key and click the message. Everything between the first e-mail you clicked and the last should be highlighted. A quick little tap of the Delete button and it's all over.

Finally, if you haven't emptied that deleted item folder for awhile, remember that it can get HUGE and take up a ton of hard drive space. So, empty regularly - and be careful not to delete important stuff - like this newsletter :-)

Tip of the Day

File Association Fun

Web Link - http://www.worldstart.com/tips/fileassc.htm

Do you have file association anxiety? Do your JPEGs open up in the wrong program (say your web browser and not your imaging software)? Do you have a file type that isn't associated with any program? Well, there is a solution!

1. Open Explorer (right-click the Start button and select Explore) and head to a file you would like to either associate with another program or get associated with a program for the first time.

2. Once you get to the file, hold down your SHIFT key and right-click it. You will be presented with a menu that gives you an option to "Open with...". Select that.

Oh, if you're using XP, you may not even need to hold down the shift key to get this to work. XP usually give you a Open with item on the right-click menu with a sub-menu full of options. If you want to change the association, you'll need to select the Choose Program option.

XP Open With picture:

Note - in the sample pictures, we'll re-associate a JPEG with Photoshop - it was original associated with Internet Explorer. So, in the photo below I hold the SHIFT key down and right-click a JPG file.

3. This will open up a screen where you can tell Windows what program to open that particular file with. Choose the program and make sure the little "Always use this program to open this type of file" checkbox is checked. Hit OK.

That should do it. Windows will now use the new file association when opening the file you just worked with.

Amanda's Cool Site of the Day

Cats are From Mars

They've been secretly hiding on our planet for thousands of years.

They are making us think that they are cute and cuddly, but no - they are fiendish aliens from Mars bent on world domination. They lead you into believing that they are harmless domesticated pets, but really they've been training you all along to be their slave. Secretly forcing you to lavish belly rubs and cat nip upon them. Beware!
