National Geographic is BACK - with a BONUS!

We ran the Complete National Geographic a few months ago and the response was tremendous. We ran out quickly and there were lots of people who missed out.

Well, we have it again- but this time it's the regular edition - it doesn't have the wooden box that was included with the first set we offered, but it does have a bonus! If you purchase this set, we'll give you the National Geographic Trip Planner for FREE ($49.95 retail value)!

As for the Complete National Geographic - it's a 31 CD set that features every National Geographic magazine from the original in 1888 through 1998.

I have to admit, I wasn't sure about this title at first. However, after I installed it I had a terrific time going through all the old articles, pictures, and ads. Each issue is presented exactly as it was when it was originally published - every page, every picture.

I spent over an hour just browsing through dozens of old issues. I especially like to look at old advertisements, you know, checking out what the "cutting edge" stuff was way back when.

Here's some more info on the program:

- 180,000 Spectacular photographs and illustrations.
- Search engine helps you locate the issue / content you're looking for.
- Over 9,300 articles!
- Print any page with the click of a mouse
- Access to online resources
- And more!

I don't need to tell you that this would be a fantastic gift idea (I've already set several aside as gifts). Again, we have extended our return deadline until Jan 30th 2002, so if you buy this and it isn't the perfect gift for some reason, you can return it. With only a week and a half till Christmas, now's the time to order.

The price on this is only $69.97 with FREE US SHIPPING. Between the Complete National Geographic and the Trip planner, you have a retail of nearly $200.00! So, this is a heck of a deal!

Finally, there is a very limited quantity of these available, so head to the site ASAP if you want yours!

Don't miss out!

Computers 101

Q:
I have an old program that runs in DOS. When I start it up, the MS DOS window is too small. Is there a way to make it full screen?

A:
Yes. Hold down your ALT key and hit Enter. To go back to "regular" size, use the ALT-ENTER combination again.

Tip of the Day

Colorful Title Bars

Web Link - http://www.worldstart.com/tips/colorfultitlebars.htm

Here's a fun (albeit worthless) computer tip for ya!

Would you like to make your window title bars (the area on a window that has the min, max, & close buttons on it) different colors? Try this:

1. Right-click your desktop and select Properties.

2. Your display settings should pop up. Select the Appearance tab. XP users, hit the Advanced button.

3. Click the drop down box labeled "Item".

4. Select "Active Title Bar" from the list.

5. To the right of that drop down box, you should see two additional drop down boxes labeled "Color" and "Color2"

6. The first Color box is the first color on your title bar. The second is the color that the first fades into. Set them how ever you like, you can preview the results in the little preview window above the settings.

Here's a screen shot of the properties screen from my XP machine. It's not exactly the same as earlier versions of windows, but it's very close.

I personally like black to blue.

You can see there are a bunch of other color tweaking settings there as well, so you can easily give your computer that custom feel. Have fun!

Amanda's Cool Site of the Day

Useless Knowledge, or Is It?

Wandering around the internet, I found this site full of useless information, quotes, funnies, and lots of trivia. Check out the word of the day, quote of the day, in today's history, world trivia and more….

http://www.uselessknowledge.com/

There is a riddle section, "What is too much for one, enough for two, and nothing at all for three?" Hmm what could it be? Perhaps, love, a sports car, or a secret?

If you guessed a secret you were right.

Lots of hours of fun at Useless Knowledge.

Do you have a cool site that you want to share? Send it to Amanda! Here's her address:

Oh, and we're looking for non-commercial sites. We generally don't run sites that are strictly for shopping.
