25 Ways To Improve Your PC! It's Back! The last time we ran this special, they sold like crazy. In fact, up to that point this was one of our best selling offers ever. Well, I've been able to get some more. What is it? It's the Gizmos Mega Pak and it's loaded with all kinds of useful programs. Take a look at just some of its features: * The Vault - Securely encrypt and store your confidential files. * Organize Photos - You tell it where the photos are (or have it search) and it displays a thumbnail of each. Just double-click an image to see it enlarged. * Cool Calendars - If you need the help of a calendar to keep track of appointments, look no further. This program includes attractive daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly calendars. * Fun Games - This software also includes 8 really well done card games (solitaire, free cell, etc) as well as a fun puzzle game. * Awesome Clocks - Need to be somewhere at a certain time? Just set the alarm clock! This program includes a number of really cool desktop clocks that beat the heck out of the one included with Windows. If you're connected to the internet, you can even set the time with an atomic clock! * Really Delete Files - Did you know that there is software out there that can recover files that have been removed from your recycle bin? If you need to be sure that a file is history, you can use the built-in file shredder to *really* remove it. * Play CDs - Forget the Windows CD player, this one looks better and has more toys (you can even "banish" songs you don't like!). * Crunch Numbers - Don't like the little calculator that comes with Windows? Don't worry, this program has several to choose from, including an adding machine (it even sounds like an adding machine) that lets you print out a tape! * Make Presentations - Forget MS PowerPoint, here's a solution that everyone can afford! You can create your own slide / video shows, complete with narration if you like (you'll need a microphone if you want to narrate). Making presentations is as easy as dragging and dropping! As for compatibility, if the person who is viewing the show doesn't have Gizmos on their computer, you can send them a player! OK, sorry that was
so long, but this software includes a lot of stuff. Now for the price. We have this program for only $14.95 with FREE US SHIPPING! I think this is probably the best deal we've ever had on a software package (and you know we've had some good deals). Remember, we do have a 30 day money back guarantee, so if you don't like it, we'll take it back (don't worry, you'll love it)! Here's the info link: http://www.worldstart.com/store/gizmos.htm Note - The last time we ran this, we sold between 600 -700 units. We only have 140 of these in stock and once they are gone, we won't be able to get more. So, if you're interested, get to the site ASAP.
Q: A: To check / change your monitor resolution, right-click your desktop and select Properties. Next, click the Settings tab. You'll see a little slider gizmo that goes left to right. Make sure it's set to 800x600 or higher (the higher you go, the smaller an item will appear on your screen, so don't go too far). Here's a sample shot (note that my resolution is set really high - this is because the LCD screen on my laptop looks best at that particular resolution. Most regular monitors wouldn't look that hot at 1400 x1050, so don't feel that you have to set yours to match mine).
Click OK. You may need to re-start. The other possibility
is that the site you're looking at is poorly designed. My site is designed
for an 800x600 resolution, but I have it set at 750 pixels wide to allow
for the sides of the browser window. If it was set to 800, you would still
have to scroll a little unless your monitor was set higher than 800x600.
Drag & Drop Madness! Web Link - http://www.worldstart.com/tips/dragdropmadness.htm I used to hate dragging and dropping files. I was never sure what Windows was going to do with it. Was it going to be copied? Was it going to be moved? Was I just creating a shortcut to the file? Urrgg! It was enough to drive a geek nuts. Well, then I started paying attention and realized that Windows actually tells you what it's doing as you move the file. If you see a "+" sign in a little white box, the file is being copied. If you see an arrow, Windows is creating a shortcut. Finally, if you see nothing at all, the file is being moved.
OK here's a new problem. What happens if you're trying to move say, a program file (a file ending in ".exe"), and Windows wants to do a shortcut instead of a move? Or maybe you want to make a copy of a file and Windows wants to move it? Well, there's an easy solution for that as well. Just drag and drop with your RIGHT mouse button. When you release the button, you'll be given a little menu that allows you to pick "Move", "Copy", "Create Shortcut", or "Cancel".
In case you're wondering,
I'm a right-click drag and dropper now :-)
