Finally! CD Burning Made Easy Here's a cool one for ya! Do you have a CD burner? Have you ever wished there was a good CD burning program that was really easy to use? Well, save your wishes for something else! We found a program called Iomega Burn & Go Gold that makes CD creation a snap! For most burns, it's just a two step process. Select the files you want, then hit the "Create CD" button. It can do audio, data, and even direct CD to CD copies (if you have two CD ROM drives). Now, I only have one CD drive in my computer, so I wondered how difficult it would be to copy an audio CD. Turns out I had nothing to worry about. It copies the CD tracks to your hard drive temporarily and then burns the CD from there. I think that was about a 3 step process. Of course, it allows you to do a "test" burn, select your burn speed, number of copies, etc. It also supports 80 minute CDs, and a bunch of different audio formats (MP3, WMA, WAV, AIFF, and CDDA) However, where it goes the extra mile is with its built-in CD Labeling program. That's right, you can create your own CD labels right from this software. In fact, the CD labeling software not only lets you do CD labels, but you can also create jewel case inserts and covers with it as well. You can even use your own pictures! Oh yeah, it also includes 20 labels and a labeling system to get you started. So, if you like the idea of creating your own CDs but don't like the hassle of a complicated CD burning program, this is for you! It's only $24.95 and shipping is FREE if you live in the US. Check it out (screen shots and all) at: http://www.worldstart.com/store/burngogold.htm Unfortunately, quantities on this one are limited, so get to the site ASAP! You don't want to miss out!
Q: A: The reason for the decrease in speed is that your internet connection isn't fast enough to do lots of stuff at once, no regular dial up connection is. Web browsing will become sluggish while you're doing a download, but get even worse when you're sending an e-mail attachment. Ya see, although you may be zippin' along at 56Kbs on the download side, you can only upload at a snailish 33Kbs with a modem. Plus, if all your upload bandwidth is being used to send a file, it's hard to get out those page requests and surf the web. If you really want to do the multi-tasking thing while you're online, you may want to consider a broadband type connection (cable modem, DSL, etc). Otherwise, wait to surf until your files are downloaded and your e-mail is sent. Oh, one additional note on downloading. It seems like I get a greater number of corrupt downloads if I'm playing around on the web during the download process. Worse with a dial up than a broadband connection, but still something to consider.

Speaker
Arrangements Are you a sound fanatic? Do you have your computer hooked up for surround sound or at least have multiple speakers? Well, if you tell Windows about your sound configuration, you'll probably enjoy your speakers even more. Here's how: 1. Click the Start button, Settings, Control panel. Open the Multimedia icon. XP users, you need to hit the Start button, Control Panel, then open the Sounds & Audio Devices icon. Nothing like consistency from version to version huh? 2. Under the Audio tab, click the Advanced Properties button (in XP, it's just called the Advanced button).
Using the drop box on that screen, you can tell Windows what your speaker arrangement is. Everything from headphones to surround sound.
Playing Quake in surround
sound. Now that's fun. If only I could keep my wife from yelling at me.
I think she said something about the floor vibrating, but I couldn't hear
for sure... Have
