Archives / Missing Issues

We've had a number of people ask if there is any way for us to e-mail them missing or past issues of this newsletter. Unfortunately it's becoming a bit of a chore to do that manually, especially with the large number of folks who ask.

Instead, why not just head to our archives section at WorldStart and send the page to yourself via e-mail? Don't know how? Check out today's Tip of the Day! How's that for self service?

For those who don't know where our archives page is, here's the link:

Enjoy!

CD Burnin'!

We had a terrific response to our Burn & Go offer yesterday! If you missed out, this software makes creating CDs (audio or data) with your CD writer quick and easy - it even allows you to do direct CD to CD copies (you need 2 CD ROMs for that)!

This would be a fantastic tool for backing up your important files. Let's face it, the reason most of us don't bother with backups is because it's a hassle. Well, you can create a data CD with this software in just 2 quick steps, so it kind of takes the pain out of those backups.

Anyhow, for a complete description of this one, head to:

Thanks to the hundreds who ordered already!

Computers 101

Q:
I saw someone use the keyboard to close a program. How is that done?

A:
It's big computer magic and you're not ready for that yet.

OK, it's a little shortcut, ALT-F4. Hit that while you're in a program and you'll shut the program down. If you're at the Windows Desktop and hit it, you'll shut down your computer.

Who needs a mouse anyway??

Tip of the Day

Send A Page

Have you ever wanted to show a friend the web page you were at? Maybe you felt the need to share a cool recipe you just discovered or maybe it's full of swimsuit models. In any case, if you're using Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator you can. Here's how to send your homepage to a buddy:

Internet Explorer:

1. Head to your homepage.

2. Click the File menu, Send, Page by e-mail.

3. Outlook Express (or Outlook) will now open and the page you were just looking at will be made into an e-mail message. All you need to do is fill in the recipient's address and send it off. To test this, use your own address and send it to yourself.

Netscape 6:

1. Head to your homepage.

2. Click the File menu, Send Page.

3. Netscape Mail will now open and the page you were just looking at will be made into an e-mail message. All you need to do is fill in the recipient's address and send it off. To test this, use your own address and send it to yourself.

Final Notes:

Your friend will need an HTML compatible e-mail client to actually be able to view the page. Don't worry. Most e-mail programs are HTML capable.

Amanda's Cool Site of the Day

Vector Lounge – Wire Frames

Meet Mr. Skeleton, your skeletal model and playmate at this site. Here you can make him walk, drag his limbs, or watch he and his buddy walk across the screen. This is a really neat site that fits most age categories, and is way better than Biology class on bone structure any day.

You start off in drag mode where you can experiment with the way the body moves by clicking on the circles with plus signs near the top of the page. Each one moves a different part of his body.

You can switch over to walk mode, he’ll walk across the screen then. You can have more fun in this mode by customizing the way he walks, just click on the little box next to the words “Walk Designer” and this will give you the tools to change the way he moves.

Click on the drag button to drag Mr. Skeleton back to his starting position, then slide the controls until you have them where you want them and drag him back across the screen. It’s really neat and you can see how your body really moves in different positions.

Have fun, and play nicely with Mr. Skeleton!
