Hey! We're Back! I tell ya, servers are no fun. The server we use for sending e-mail went down last Thursday. We tried everything to get it up and running again, but no amount of yelling, crying, kicking, or CPR did it. Turns out our list was getting too big for it to handle. So, we've upgraded to a server that's 3x the power of the old one. Anyway, only a few people actually received this newsletter last Thursday, so we're sending it again. Thanks! OK, Wow, That Was Something! If you've been with us for any amount of time, you know that we've had some big sales. However, the deal we had last week may very well take the top spot as our all time best seller. Thanks to all who ordered. What am I taking about? Our deal for McAfee Anti-Virus and Firewall - it's only $18.97 and US Shipping is FREE! (Combined retail value of nearly $100.00) Oh, and yes, this is the current version. If you missed out, we were able to find more. Again, this software has been improved from previous versions (that's why I'm happy to recommend it) and it's very (very) user friendly. I've had it on my computer for a few weeks now and it's been great! The anti-virus part monitors e-mail attachments, Internet downloads, shared disks, CD-ROMs, and synchronization with your PDA. It also detects destructive ActiveX and Java applets, which are often downloaded without your knowledge while you browse. Oh, it also watches for suspicious activity - helping you catch new viruses that have yet to be reported. Cool huh? The firewall is also fantastic. I found it to be one of the most user friendly I've run across. It monitors all your internet traffic - keeping hackers out and your private information in (your AV software won't keep hackers out). It also does a great job of monitoring programs that are trying to access the internet. Great way to keep spyware at bay. Between this program's Anti-Virus and Firewall (plus the automatic updates), you are about as safe as you can be online. Those are just the highlights. Want to know more? Take a look and see for yourself why we think this new program is so good: http://www.worldstart.com/store/mcafee.htm PS - Again, these are selling fast and I'm starting to run out of suppliers with these in stock (at least at this price). So, if you're interested, get your order in ASAP! What About Norton? We had a lot of people concerned last week that we were no longer going to carry Norton. Don't worry, we like Norton products every bit as much as McAfee. It's just that right now, we have a much better deal on McAfee. So, we give you the deals as we find 'em. However, if you would like Norton AV ($18.97), here's a link: http://www.worldstart.com/store/nortonav2002.htm And Norton Firewall ($19.97): http://www.worldstart.com/store/nortonfirewall2002.htm See? McAfee is the better deal and their software is just as good.
Q: A: Now, one more little trick. If you want to get all the Windows back to their original size (restored) just click that "Show desktop" icon again. Have
a question for the newsletter? Submit it at the link below: Moving Internet Favorites to the Links Bar Are you like me and have about twenty to thirty things in your favorites menu, but only use 8 on a regular basis? If so, this tip is for you! You can put the sites you visit most in the links bar at the top of your browser window. In order to move old favorites to this bar click on the Favorites drop down menu. Go to Organize Favorites. In the window that appears you can move the sites in your favorites menu to a folder called Links. Before doing this, let’s get rid of all the stuff we don’t want in the Links folder that Microsoft has so nicely given us. Click on the Links folder to open it. Simply right click on the shortcut you want to remove and select Delete in the menu that pops-up. You might want to keep some of the shortcuts, none of them are absolutely needed, and I deleted all of them. Anything you want to save from this folder you can move using the following method: Now that we have the folder cleared of unwanted shortcuts we can put what we want in it. Find a listed internet site that you want to have in the links bar. Click and drag it to the Links folder. Repeat this for all shortcuts you want in the links bar. Any link can be moved by dragging it to the proper destination.
OK, so now you just found a cool site, like www.worldstart.com, and you want to add it to your links bar, but for some crazy reason, it’s not in your favorites menu yet. Go to Favorites Menu and click Add to Favorites just like always. However, when the Add to Favorites window appears, click the Links folder before clicking OK. That’s it!
Also, if the links bar is not displayed, you can easily display it. First, right click anywhere in the toolbar of your browser. In the menu that appears, make sure Links has a check next to it. If you still can’t see the bar, look for the word Links somewhere in the toolbar. When you see it, click on the letters and drag it below the address bar and you’ll see the toolbar now. If you are unable to drag it, open that last menu again and uncheck Lock the Toolbars. Then try again. Happy surfing! --Kyle Larson Have
