PS - This is probably the last time we're going to be able to get these - once they're gone, they're gone! As always, these will be sold on a first come, first served basis - so get to the site ASAP before you miss out!
Q: A: Well, it can be done by putting a little folder on your desktop and dragging any infrequently used shortcut icons to it. Here's how: (Note: Windows XP users can do this automatically by right clicking on the desktop and selecting Arrange Icons By, then Run Desktop Cleanup Wizard!) 1. Right-click the desktop and select, New, Folder.
2. Name the new folder "Shortcuts"
3. Now, drag any icons that aren't being used on a regular basis to the folder. Some of the icons can't live anywhere but the desktop, so you'll find you can't move them. Most of them will make the transition with no complaints though.
That's it. Just open the folder when you need access to those shortcuts. How about that? A much cleaner desktop :-) --Steve Have
a question for the newsletter? Submit it at the link below: Placing Your Favorite Web Page on Your Desktop Did you know that you can place your favorite website on your desktop just like one of your desktop icons? Here’s how… Right-click on your desktop, select Active Desktop, and click on Customize My Desktop. You will see your display properties box, select the Web tab. Make sure the ‘Show web content on my active desktop’ box is checked. (XP Users: Right-click on your desktop, select Properties. On the Desktop tab, click the Customize Desktop button, then click on the Web tab.)
Click on New, you’ll see the ‘New active desktop item’ box. This is where you will type in the address for your favorite website. If you know the address for the site you want, simply type it in. If not, you can go to it and copy and paste it into this box. Then click OK. It will now start to connect to your site. The next box you will see is to verify this process. You can either click OK or if your site needs a password to access, click on Customize and type the password. It will then synchronize and your site is added to your display properties. Now back at the Display Properties window, make sure the site you just entered is selected and click Apply then OK.
Once your site is added to your desktop then you can resize it with the sizing handles. You can also move it to different parts of your desktop by clicking and dragging at the top of the screen. You can even make it as big or as small as you like, but now you can get to your favorite site a lot quicker than by any browser. --Patti Brown Have
a tip for the newsletter? Submit it below:
Okay I know what you’re thinking, "Oh no, not another site to get addicted to." Well, that’s exactly what this is. You can play slots for free, there are nine slots on the main page, and then you can go through he free slot pages to play different ones. My favorites are the Candy Store, which is on the main page, and the Pirates, which is on the fourth free slot page. Now, the slots on the main page are the ones where you can submit entries into their monthly prize drawing. I don’t bother with that cause I’m just not a believer in sweepstakes and the like; however, the site gives you fifty credits to start and when you run out you just hit add credits and you get fifty more. I know you want to ask how much this costs to play... Well, that’s the best part! It’s free. I’ve been playing on their slot machines for months now and it hasn’t cost me a dime. So have fun, sit back, relax, and enjoy. Do
you have a cool, non-commercial site that you want to share?
