Q:
I would like to send the web page I'm looking at to a friend. Is there an easy way to do this?

A:
Yup, maybe you're feeling the need to share a cool recipe you just discovered or maybe a page full of swimsuit models. In any case, if you're using Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator you can. Here's how to send your homepage to a buddy:

Internet Explorer:

1. Head to the page you want to send.

2. Click the File menu, Send, Page by E-mail.

3. Outlook Express (or Outlook) will now open and the page you were just looking at will be made into an e-mail message. All you need to do is fill in the recipient's address and send it off. To test this, use your own address and send it to yourself.

Netscape 6:

1. Head to the page you want to send.

2. Click the File menu, Send Page.

3. Netscape Mail will now open and the page you were just looking at will be made into an e-mail message. All you need to do is fill in the recipient's address and send it off. To test this, use your own address and send it to yourself.

Final Notes:
Your friend will need an HTML compatible e-mail client to actually be able to view the page. Don't worry. Most e-mail programs are HTML capable.

Tip of the Day

Did You Spel Chek That?

Setting Outlook Express to check spelling before sending messages.

Are you spell checking your documents before sending them?

Well, you should and it can be done automatically with most versions of Outlook Express. Here’s how to configure OE to do the spell checking for you.

From the Tools menu, select Options. The Options window will open, click on the Spelling tab and make sure you have “Always check before sending” selected.

Other options available to you in this window are:

  • Suggest replacements for misspelled words.
  • A list of items you can choose to ignore when spell checking (select or deselect according to your preferences).
  • Dictionary language and "Edit Custom Dictionary" - When you choose to "Add" a word while spell checking, you add it to the custom dictionary. You should review and edit this custom dictionary occasionally as misspelled words can be added inadvertently. Spell Check will never find a misspelled word, if the misspelled word is in the Custom Dictionary. Misspelled words should be deleted from the Custom Dictionary.

You can also run Spell Check manually by pressing F7 or by selecting Spelling from the sub-menu under Tools or clicking on the toolbar button with the ABC check mark.

Amanda's Cool Site of the Day

Fly the Copter

This game may look easy but it’s not. I didn’t get past a 512 for my distance... The high score of the website’s owner is 2148 and the challenge is to see if you can beat that.

Controls for the game are really simple. Hold your left mouse button down to go up and release it to go down. It’s that simple.

The trick seems to be the longer you play, the better you get. So get playing!
