WOW! Must Have Internet Utilities Suite

Stopping Pop Up Ads and Lots More!

Wow, the response to yesterday's deal on the Internet Utilities Suite was fantastic. More overtime for the shipping dept :-)

If you missed out, I really, really recommend you take a look at this one. It includes all of the following software:

iClean - This is our favorite part of the suite :-) It stops pop up windows, removes internet temp files (saving space), removes cookies placed by "spam" web servers, allows you to surf the web anonymously, can delete history automatically, clears the browser drop down address bar (very handy), deletes items in the recent documents menu, clears AutoComplete, and more!! I've been using it for 4 months and love it!

Stuff-It Standard - This program is for working with compressed files (including the popular "zip" format). It allows you to work with and create compressed files quickly and easily.

iAnnotate-it - This software lets you "mark up" a web page by highlighting, circling stuff, adding your own comments, and more. After you're done, just send it off in an e-mail! Everyone I've shown it to has come up with lots of uses for it (and wish they would have had it a long time ago).

iCapture-it - Here's another handy utility. This one lets you capture a web page - or pages - for later offline viewing. In fact, not only can it grab a web page, but it also can snag all the pages linked though the captured page - up to 5 levels! What this means to you is that, in most cases, you can capture an entire web site and save it as a single file on your hard drive! Then browse offline from there. It's a great insurance policy against sites that "disappear".

iOrganize-it - This software lets you capture pages and keep the captured pages organized. Even make separate web page "books".

Again, you get all of the above for only $12.97 and US shipping is free (combined retail is around $130.00 - heck, the pop up stopper alone retails for $29.95)! Join the hundreds (and hundreds) who ordered yesterday!

PS - You can't go wrong for $12.97! Besides, if you buy it, try it, and don't like it, just send it back for a refund within 30 days! Nothing to lose - unless you miss out :-)

Q:
Why do I often get the message "Site cannot be found" when I go to some web pages?

A:
"404- Not Found - The page you were trying to look at was not found on the server."

1. This is probably the most common error you'll come across while online. There are several reasons for this:

The web page you were going to has been removed or re-named. Try scaling down the URL. For example, if it's:

www.worldstart.com/tips/nopage.htm

you may want to try:

www.worldstart.com/tips

or

www.worldsart.com

Keep going backwards in the URL and you'll usually come up with the site you're after. Then you can look for the lost page from there.

2. Your Internet connection has gone dead, so try re-logging on.

3. Net congestion during peak hours (especially common with dial-up ISPs) can also prevent pages from loading. If it takes too long for a page to be found, the browser might just give up. Try the page again later (or hit the "Refresh" button).

Tip of the Day

File Sizes & Counts

Have you ever wondered how much space a set of files takes up? Or how many files were in a folder? Well, here's how to figure it out.

If you're interested in the number of files in a folder and / or the total size of the folder, just right-click it and select Properties from the resulting menu.

OK, that was a fairly well known trick. But what if you have a bunch of files in a folder and need to know the combined size of seven of them?

You could right-click each one, select Properties, and then add up all the sizes.

However, a better way would be to highlight all seven files in question, right-click them, and select Properties.

That will give you a combined file size of just those seven files.

If they're not in order, use your CTRL key to select them. For more on selections, click the link below:

Amanda's Cool Site of the Day

Beneath L.A.

This site brings you the history of Los Angeles, California that you may not have known before. When most people think of L.A. historically they think of riots, celebrities, and earthquakes. At least if your from my generation you do, but this city has a rich history. Welcome to "Beneath L.A.", an anthology of little known facts and stories from the city.

Some points of interest include the Strange Laws section—yield to peacocks, no one is allowed to ride a bike in a swimming pool, and many more. Read up on the train industry of L.A. Or what happened during the war years there, or read about the diversity of people. There’s also a section on Floating Casinos, and House of Mirrors, etc.

With a versatile selection of facts and stories the information presented here is intriguing and captivating. Enjoy.
