Keep Your Computer Safe :-) The response to our Drive Image offer was fantastic yesterday! I know you'll all be happy with it - it sure came to my rescue! Visit the Drive Image page to read the whole account of my disaster and recovery. While on the Drive Image page, be sure to check out the page I put together that shows - step by step - how easy it is to use Drive Image to make backups. As an added bonus, I've also put together an example of how I used some of Drive Image's advanced features to make restoring my C: drive quick and painless. Who needs reformatting anyway? If you missed out, this program makes backing up data fast and really easy - it's the perfect solution for those who shudder at the very thought of performing a backup. This software creates a compressed file of your entire hard drive (called an "image"). If disaster should strike, you simply go back to your most current image and restore your computer back to the way it was prior to the incident. Think about it - there are dozens of ways you could lose the data and programs on your hard rive. You could be hit with a virus, have a hard drive crash, experience a power surge, accidentally drop the computer, even have bad program install (this seems to be one of the more common causes of problems). This software really gives you peace of mind when it comes to your data protection. When disaster strikes (not if, when) this software can have you back up and running in no time. Just imagine what would happen if you had a little disaster right now. How long would it take you to recover your data? To re-install your programs (and find all those serial numbers)? How much productivity and money would you lose? See my point? This is a very good thing to have! The price? Well, retail is $69.95 - you get it for over half that - $29.97! And yes, US shipping is still 100% FREE! So, if you haven't already ordered, join the hundreds who have. You'll thank me for it one day :-) http://www.worldstart.com/store/drive-image-2002.htm PS - we're starting to run low and I'm not sure I can get it again at this price. Get to the site right now to be sure you get yours!

Little Yellow (or Gray) Speakers For some reason, I get lots of e-mail from people telling me they've lost their little speaker icon (sound control) that usually lives in the system tray and now they want to get it back. Come to think of it, I also get lots of e-mail asking how to get it out of the system tray. Well, the answer is the same for both! Here's all you do: Win95/98 1. Click the Start button, Settings, Control Panel. Open the Multimedia icon. 2. On the Audio tab, you'll see a little checkbox labeled "Show volume control on the taskbar". If you want to see the little yellow speaker, make sure it's checked. If you don't want to see it, uncheck it.
Win ME/XP 1. Click the Start button, Settings, Control Panel. Open the Sounds & Multimedia icon. 2. On the Sounds or Volume tab, you'll see a little checkbox towards the bottom labeled "Show/Place volume control on the taskbar." If you want to see the little yellow/gray speaker, make sure it's checked. If you don't want to see it, uncheck it.
Too easy, huh? ~ Steve Have

I’m sure most of you have heard of the Darwin Awards, if not let me explain what they are. The Darwin Award is generally awarded posthumously, and is a way of saying thank you for taking yourself out of the gene pool. "The Darwin Awards honor those who improve our gene pool... by removing themselves from it.” Direct quote from their site. This award is given to people who have died doing something horrendously stupid. This site hosts the stories of those who have won or been nominated for the award, you can even read up on who received the awards in previous years. Do
you have a cool, non-commercial site that you want to share?
