The Best 9-11 Site?

I found a site that has got to be the best 9-11 site ever. It shows you what's basically a presentation of the events in the order they happened. It's a reminder of why we are fighting in the middle east and is a memorial to all those who suffered and died last September.

It's big and it takes awhile to load (especially with a dial up), but it's well worth it. You may want to have a tissue handy:

Internet Anagram Server

Anagrams! Anagrams! Who cares about anagrams? Well I do, I think they’re neat, and so is this site.

You just type in a word, click the Get Anagrams button and it produces an entire list of all the possible anagrams for that word. I’m completely hopeless; I spent an entire hour playing with this anagram machine.

You will also find the Anagram Hall of Fame that has some really neat anagrams, for example:

Western Union = No Wire Unsent
Clothespins = So Let's Pinch
Mother-in-law = Woman Hitler
Snooze Alarms = Alas! No More Z's
Statue of Liberty = Built to Stay Free

These are only handful of the neat anagrams in the hall of fame. I say check it out.

Ray's List of Weird and Disgusting Foods

Weird and Disgusting Foods from all around the globe can be found on Ray’s list. I was shocked to find peanut butter, pumpkin pie, jell-o, iced tea as weird foods from the US. And there were many, many more. Take a look at this list and see what you can add. Check it out.

International High IQ Society

This is a truly fascinating site. You can choose to use the flash version of the site or the HTML. I choose to use the HTML.

There are five free IQ tests : The Ultimate IQ test, Verbal IQ Test, Logic IQ Test, Culture Fair IQ Test, and last but not least the Test For Exceptional Intelligence.

A score of 126 or above on any of these tests and you are invited you to become a member of their society. There are also 5 Logic puzzles that you can take a gander at. My favorite of the puzzles was #2, the Kryptos monument.

The best part is that all the tests are free and the results are immediate. Have fun!

The MegaPenny Project

Have you ever wondered what a million or even a trillion pennies looks like? Well this site puts things into perspective starting with the lowly single cent and climbing to enormous heights…literally topping out at One Quintillion pennies. You can also catch the MegaFauna feature, and the MegaMoo special bonus edition of the series. I thought all in all this was rather nifty, and is definitely worth a few clicks. Check it out!

Pollution Score Card

Have you ever wondered how the pollution in your environment compares to other cities around the US? All 50 states are categorized from best to worst in several different categories. Just type in your zip code and find out what pollutants are in your community. I typed in our zip code here in Toledo, and got the following results:

444,536 people in Lucas County face a cancer risk more than 100 times the goal set by the Clean Air Act. 86% of the risks are from mobile sources, 9.9 % of the air cancer risks are from area resources, and 4.4 % of the air cancer risks are from point sources.

That definitely doesn't sound good. Take a look and see what risks there are in your hometowns. Check it out.

VRCincinnati

Have you ever been curious about Cincinnati? The places, the sights, the sounds that you could see if you visited there?

Even if you aren't curious, you'll probably like to play with this website. VRCincinnati allows visitors to go inside different places and take a 360 degree look at everything around them.

Click & drag inside the image to look around, then to zoom in hold down the "Shift" key. To zoom out, hold down the "Control" key.

I particularly loved the 18th Century Scotland under the Cincinnati flower show, The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra & Music Hall, and the Zoo pictures. You will find photos from outside of Cincinnati as well. Have fun and enjoy the virtual world.
