When I was a kid it seemed like forever for summer to come back around, and when it did, I was looking forward to two things: swimming, and Arts & Crafts at the local park. This site takes me back to the summers of my childhood with its focus on bringing adults and children together through art, specifically teachers and students.
On the main page you’ll find lots of nifty things to check out! There’s an Artist’s Quote, a listing of things for Teachers to explore, a listing of things for Students/Kids to explore, Artist Trading Cards, an Art Gallery, and more!
Along the top of the page you’ll find a navigation strip with the following categories:
Articles – here you will find art articles and a Call for Articles link.
Art Sparkers – this section provides you with 15 different projects to spark creativity. There are a handful of featured sparkers, with the rest on the side menu on the right side of the page.
Projects – this section has three projects that students and teachers can both participate in. These looked very interesting and I think they would be a fun addition to any art class or group!
ATG! – this section is for art teachers, and provides them with a guide to using the internet as a resource that they can pull from for their classes.
ATC’s – ATC stands for Artist Trading Cards. This section gives the background on artist trading cards, what size they need to be, and provides teachers a gallery to draw from.
Archives – here you will find the archive of past articles, projects, and resources.
Gallery – this is a gallery of art that is inspired and based on the community that it came out of. I think it is really neat!
