How do you burn to a CD from within Audacity? Can I?

Hi, Clara!

Your question made me go back into Audacity and double-check its features.  Unfortunately, you can’t burn a CD from within Audacity.  As you know, though, you can edit and improve your audio tracks with Audacity.  You can also export your track as another media type which may make them more suitable for burning to a CD than their original format.  However, in order to burn the CD, you’ll need to use a different software program.

Typically, computers today come ready with CD-writing software – even Windows has its own built-in CD burning program built into its shell.  Some of the most common CD-burning software include Roxio and Nero.   A variety of free software options also exist:  Nero Kwik Burn [1], Burn4Free [2], and CDBurnerXP [3].  Any of these options should allow you to create a CD from your files.

Happy burning!
