Here you will find a section devoted to teaching young adults how to take better photos without talking down to them but still keeping it simple. To be honest, these tips have helped me refine my own photography skills.
Not only are the tips kept simple but they also include subject matter like kids and pets that will interest young photographers. I love the section that teaches kids about photography by using photos of a raccoon.
I also really like that they focus on taking pictures that are comical, or that focus on taking pictures of their friends. Those are two really great ways to keep kids interested in the subject matter.
They even provide inspiration galleries, a Q&A section, and a homework helper section that introduces them to famous photographers.
I also recommend checking out the BetterMentor section, where they are offering to help kids in the Big Sisters and Big Brother programs discover photography. How can you help? They’re looking for old digital cameras, or just cameras that you’ve outgrown to be donated to the program! What a great way to get rid of old cameras just sitting around the house. I think it is an awesome way to team up with such a good charity.
Even if you don’t want to learn about photography, I’d recommend checking out the inspiration galleries to see some really awesome photos!
