David has a question about his desktop in Windows 10. “Is there any way to have a solid white background in Windows 10 as there was with Vista? I can’t seem to find that option. I never upgraded to Windows 7 or 8. I don’t know if a solid white background was available with those versions.”
There are a couple of ways to go about getting a white background in Windows 10. Let’s start by typing “Desktop background” into your search box and then clicking on “Choose background, slideshow or solid color” from the results.
Then select Themes.
Then select Themes and choose Theme settings.
Then choose High Contrast White as your theme.
Your desktop will look like this:
Another option would be to find or create a plain white image to use as a background photo. I created a white box in MS Paint and resized it to 1920 x 1080 pixels.
Then go to the background settings again and choose Picture from the drop-down menu that offers you a choice between a solid color, slideshow or picture.
Choose Browse to look for your image.
And set that image as your desktop background.
