Mark has a question about a word processor for Windows 10: “I found this HP basic computer loaded with Windows 10 and no word processor. I currently have an old sell Inspiron E1505 laptop with vista 7 and Microsoft word. I have backed up all my documents on a flash drive. Will I be able to open these documents on the new computer with Windows 10 and no Microsoft word?”
Mark, Windows 10 does have a good basic built-in word processor called Word Pad. Just type Word Pad in your search box and click on the results to open the program. It should be able to handle most Word documents.
You can also access Microsoft Word for free by going to Outlook.com. Excel, Word, OneNote, Powerpoint and more are all available to use for free online.
You could also download LibreOffice or Open Office for free. Both work with Word documents.
