I use my older PC, running Windows XP, for music only.  Does Linux OS have any program like Windows Media Center  or can Windows media Center run on the Linux OS?

Does the Linux platform Ubuntu have a media player?

The first thing that comes to mind is the wonderful VLC Player, an outstanding free program that we discussed in this article.  [1]There are other media players available as well, depending on which version of Linux you choose to go with. If you choose Ubuntu, you can find options in their app store. [2]
