Recently, a reader with a limited Internet connection asked if there is a way to schedule downloads and updates so he can take advantage of the 10 GB connection that’s only available overnight.
Fortunately, it’s very easy to schedule your Windows updates. Type “windows update” in the search box of your Start Menu or in the Search Charm in Windows 8. Then click on the result.
Windows Update will open. Select change settings.
Here you can schedule the time and frequency to check for updates.
You can choose to check every day or pick one day a week.
When you’re finished, click OK.
If you’re not connected to the Internet or the computer is not turned on at the scheduled time, Windows will check for updates when you start the computer.
