Steve I have an Asus Tablet PC that came with Windows 8.1 RT. Anything that I can do to upgrade from the Win 8.1 RT to regular Win 8.0?
The Win 8.1 RT is so limited what you can load as far as apps and or software programs, please advise. Love your emails, so much to learn.
Sorry Gilberto. Windows RT is a separate operating system from Windows 8.1. It is designed for tablets and not for PCs, so you can’t upgrade to the PC operating system 8.1. It would be like trying to but Windows on an Android tablet – it’s just not going to work. I always suggest that anyone getting a Windows tablet spend just a little more money and purchase a tablet with the full version – usually denoted by a tablet being called Pro.
Windows RT tablets are fine devices, but they are not PCs. If you need to use PC programs, make sure to purchase a tablet with full Windows. I did and I must say that my Surface Pro is my favorite computer out of the many desktops and laptops that I’ve owned.
