Another Windows 10 concern that you’ve shared is that some hardware is having issues: “I have gotten used to Windows 10 and like it as much as I used to like Windows 7. However, a friend’s DVD/CD drive was not detected anymore after upgrading from 7 to 10. There are other people on the Internet speaking out about that issue, and Microsoft has not done anything about it. I can imagine it’s very disappointing to lose an important part of your operating system because of upgrading to Windows 10.”
Unless Microsoft is the manufacturer of the CD/DVD drive, there’s really not anything they can do about it. It’s up to the maker of the drive to provide updated Windows 10 drivers. Many of them have. Have your friends tried going to the manufacturer’s website to check if Windows 10 driver updates are available?
It’s quite possible that all they need to do is download and install the drivers.
