When you’re working with Microsoft Office 2007 SmartArt graphics do you ever think to yourself how nice it would be if all the shapes in the graphic didn’t have to be the same?
Maybe your basic SmartArt graphic like this one:

Would make more sense or be more useful to you if it looked something like this:

For whatever reason you have you can customize your SmartArt shapes individually with just a couple of clicks.
The first step is to right-click on a single shape in the diagram.

From the menu choose Change Shape.
The shape palette will open allowing you to choose any shape you like.
You can change one shape, two shapes, all shapes… this one really makes the already powerful SmartArt tool even more versatile and useful.
Give it a try – you just may find a whole new set of uses for SmartArt.
