Not too happy with the voice your Android phone uses for things like giving directions? You do have some options to change it. Let’s check it out. First, you’ll want to open Settings on your phone.
Then look for Text to speech options. On some phones, you’ll find that under Accessibility options.
On others, it’s under Input and Control.
Once you find Text to speech options, just tap to open.
If you’re using your phone’s speech engine, try switching to Google’s speech engine. Many people feel it sounds a little more natural.
If you scroll down, you should see the option to preview the voice.
You can also tap Speech rate to make adjustments to the rate at which your device speaks.
Speed it way up or slow it down depending on your preferences.
You can listen to an example of any of the changes you’ve made.
