I know, this might seem like a silly one, but I’m sure there are a few readers out there who didn’t know you could change the color of your Windows 7 taskbar and window glass. So, for those precious few, this tip’s for you.
Click the Start button, and in the Search programs and files box type: window color – choose the option that says Change window glass colors.

Voila! A whole swatchbook of different colors to choose from! You can even hit the Show color mixer drop down arrow and pick your own custom color.

Cool!

This tip is not clear. Where’s Start Orb? When I typed ‘Window Color’ in the ‘Run’ box, it showed only the “Change the Color Scheme”. It has options to change the Window items only.
I want to add, my OS is WIN 7 Starter Pack.
The “Start Orb” is the Round Start Button on Windows 7. Hope this helps!
did you know also you can change it by right click on your desktop … click on Personalize and it takes you right there.
not a Windows 7 Pro feature. This can be changed with Right-click on desktop, Personalize…
…continued….he meant Search Programs and Files box, not Run
That was a cool trick!! I can now quickly discern whether I’m on my user area or my husband’s.
Thanks for the great tip!
