CollageIt – Easy to use Photo Collage Maker

Do you like the look of a photo collage, but don’t want to spend a lot time printing out photos, cutting them up, gluing them to paper, cutting our borders, gluing on the borders, only to realize you’re out of space and doing it ALL over again?

CollageIT is a program that allows you to create amazing collages using your digital photos. The interface is simple to use, and with 15 templates included for free that you can customize in near infinite ways, the possibilities for creativity are endless!

Finished Collage from CollageIt

In only fives minutes, and with a few simple clicks I was able to make the holiday collage above and export it to format I can take and print at the local photo lab, e-mail to friends & family or post on social media sharing sites.

Once you download, install and run the software, you are presented with a screen to select a template. Choose whichever you like and don’t worry, you can adjust the number of photos in almost every template to fit in, more or less.

CollageIT Template Select Screen

Once you select a template and click continue, you must select to add photos to your collage. Click Photo then Add Photo or drag and drop photos into the “Drop files here” box.

Add Photos Screen

Once you’ve selected your photos, you can drag and drop from the left hand Photo List into any of the available squares. If you decide you would like another photo in place of one you’ve already placed you need only drag the new photo onto the old photo square and the new photo will replace it.

Build Collage

Once you are done building your collage you can click Export and save the resulting image as a standard photo JPG format, send an e-mail or set it as your desktop wallpaper.

Export Collage

The software includes many fantastic additional options and configuration settings, such as photo spacing, orientation, page setup for landscape or portrait prints, number of photo spaces, frames and background colors, and much more.

The free version of the software does put a small watermark on the exported image, but does not distract from the final output that much. If you find yourself liking the free version and upgrade to the pro version – which offers more configuration, cropping and editing features without any watermark – it may be worth the full $19.

The software is compatible with Microsoft Windows versions 2000/xp/2003 and Windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.5 and is available from http://www.collageitfree.com/download.html [1]
