The Metropolitan Museum of Art brings you Collection your hub to explore the different collections at the museum.
When you arrive you’ll be right in the center of the hub and all the links you need to explore will be right at your fingertips.
I suggest starting with my favorite section – Art work of the Day. Everyday they feature a different piece of artwork from the collection. This is a fun way to discover new art.
My second favorite section is MetCollects which features one newly acquired work in the Museums collection each month. The most recent episode is listed at the top of the page. Each month equals an episode, and you can easily go back and check out the other entries for the year. Or you can flip over to 2014 and start with the first episode of the project and work your way to the current feature. This is an interesting way to learn a lot about a particular item or style in a small capsule.
You can also check out the Highlights of the Collection section where you see selections made by the different curators at the museum. Or you can just browse the collection in its online entirety with The Collection Online. It is home to over 400,000 different items.
And that’s just the beginning of what you can find here. They have a kids section (#MetKids), an organic social experiment that connects the different highlights from collections to each other, and a cool Timeline of Art History.
Go check it out for yourself and explore Art today!
