Convert It To A Value

Do you have an Excel formula in a single cell that needs to be converting to its value?

No problem. Simple select the cell and press F2 then press F9.

Voila! The cell contains the value of the formula not the formula itself.

Unfortunately, you’ll find that this little trick doesn’t work on multiple cells – so now what?

Tackling this one isn’t as difficult as we might fear if we tap into the Paste button tip from Friday.

First, select the cells to be converted from formulas to values.

Now copy the cells. (Copy button or Ctrl +C)

Without moving your cell selection go to the Paste button, click the down arrow and choose Values from the list.

Say goodbye to those formulas because you just pasted their values back into the same cells where you started.
