It’s that time of year when we all start cooking a little bit more to warm up the house or to try out some new recipes for those holiday meals. This excellent recipe site has pictures of a lot of the recipes! You can share your recipes and photos and browse through others’ recipes and photos. In order to post, you’ll need to sign up for a free account.
You’ll notice that there is easy navigation on the side bar. It is categorized by Course, Main Ingredient, Cuisine, Preparation, Occasion and Dietary. If you scroll down the main page, you can browse the newest news items. While I was there, there was a great article about Instant Home Cooking Remedies. It even had a link to the Cooking Q & A forum.
There is a handy search engine if you are looking for something specific at the top of the page. It has several different search options in the drop down box. Then put in what you are looking for and click search to get started.
Navigational tabs at the top of the page lead to the page’s sections: Home, Recipes, My Stuff, Community, Tools, and Help.
Home takes you back to the main index page.
Recipes has another way to browse the recipes that are on the site. The recipes are listed in numerical order here. Quite a few tasty treats caught my eye just on the first page. I could easily just surf through all the recipes here.
The My Stuff section is where you’ll manage an account, if you sign up. You can also add recipes and such.
The Community section is the forum area where you can interact with other users. Get helpful cooking hints, tricks, and tips, and discuss everything from ingredients to the tools you use to cook with. There is even a monthly cooking topic to check out.
Tools has a kitchen dictionary that’s fully searchable. You can even add a term that isn’t there. There is also a measurement converter. If you use a Palm OS, you can add shopping lists and recipes with the Handheld Versions tool.
Help is a FAQ where you can get some of your questions answered right away, from posting in the forums to cooking help.
This is a great tool to help all of you cooks out there. I know I sure am grateful for it!
