Here is a Web site for all you wine lovers out there! Cork’d is bringing you free reviews of wine, along with user ratings and commentaries that will make it easier for you to try new wine. You can also sign up for free to rate wines and do the same for others!
Creating an account is really easy to do. Just click the Sign Up button and fill out the form. You need to provide a screenname, e-mail address, name, password, security question and answer and privacy settings. When you’re finished, just click Create Account.
Next, check your e-mail for a confirmation letter. I got mine almost instantly! Once you’ve activated that and signed in, you’ll be greeted by a page that says, “Looks like you’re new in town.” This page has a lot of tips on how to get started.
There is a different featured wine everyday, so you’re sure to find at least one new wine to check out each time you visit this site. On your homepage, you’ll find your Wine Journal, Wine Cellar, Drinking Buddies and Recommendations.
The Wine Journal is where you can keep track of the wines you’ve tried. Unfortunately, I can’t remember who makes my favorite wine, so I can’t list it yet. I know it’s an excellent Moscato D’Asti though!
You can also rate them as you list them so that others can know what to expect if they were to pick up a bottle of a wine you recommend. The rating system is on a scale of 50 to 100. If you click the link that reads, “100 – Point Rating System,” you can see the different brackets in which you can rate.
The Wine Cellar is for those of you who happen to have more than one or 10 bottles of wine sitting around. Here you can catalogue your wine inventory so that you’ll know at any time what you have on hand.
Drinking Buddies – This is where you can invite your friends to join Cork’d. You’ll be able to recommend wines to each other, which is pretty cool in itself!
Recommendations – Once you have some Drinking Buddies, you can find what they’ve recommended for you to try here.
If you click the Cork’d logo at the top of the page (left side), you’ll be whisked back to the homepage. On the homepage, you will find the latest news, the most recently reviewed wines, as well as, the most popular wines.
You will also find the Wine Library TV link. That takes you to a different site where you can watch Gary Vaynerchuk critique wine. I found these videos to be both interesting and entertaining!
Well, I’m off to find out who makes my favorite wine so that I can get my list started. Go on and enjoy exploring this site. You may even be able to find the perfect wine for your Thanksgiving feast!
