If you’re using Cortana, Microsoft’s voice-activated virtual assistant, there’s one important tip to remember when talking to “her.”
Wait for the tone. After your say, “Hey Cortana” to get her attention, you’ll need to wait until she gives you a little tone of acknowledgment before you start talking. That means she’s ready to listen. If you start talking before the tone, she won’t hear some of what you’re saying.
This is also true if you’re dictating an e-mail or a calendar event. You need to wait for the tone after you give the recipient, before you add the subject or start dictating the body of the message.
She’s smart, but she still needs a minute to process things.
