Did you know you can create your own custom labels in Word? You can, and it’s not too difficult. For this example, I’m using Word 2016, but the process is pretty similar in most versions of Word since 2007. First, you’ll need to create a new blank document. Open Word and choose New. Then click on Blank document.
Then select Mailings at the top.
To the far left, under the Create heading, choose Labels.
You can create a whole page of the same label or one single label.
Click on Options.
Select the type of labels you’ll be printing to.
For this example, I will choose Avery and one of their label options. If you aren’t sure of the product number for your labels, you should be able to find it on the package.
Type the address in the address box.
Now, click on New Document.
A page of labels will open.
Tomorrow, I’ll show you how to customize the fonts and add color and graphics to your labels.
