How can I create a desktop Icon for a e-mail account such as Juno.com or Yahoo.com?
Since many of us now use the online tools provided with our e-mail accounts instead of Outlook or other programs, this one is a good question that has definite time-saver potential.
Creating the shortcut is as easy as 1, 2, 3…
1. Go to the site that you wish the shortcut to direct you.
2. Click, hold and drag the address from the browser to your desktop.

3. Release
Ta-da!
A shortcut is created that when used will open your browser and take you straight to where you asked to go.

Duh, so simple, who would of thought. Great Tip.
Thx April,
O.K now I have a “e” icon for my yahoo mail same as icon for the internet. 2″e”‘s. Which one is internet and which one is for email. Both look alike.
I found out that in XP Pro I had to click on the ICON to the left of the “https” and drag the icon to the desktop for this to work. Just clicking on the address didn’t do it.
great tip. i like it
Wonderful tip. Thank you
Cooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooollllllllllllllllllllllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would add to this list another point: Always stay away from suspicious websites. Make sure you navigate the web safely. For instance AVG has a free antivirus solution that adds a safe icon next to your google searches so you know before you click on any link if it’s safe or not.
