CreateLive is an awesome site that offers free classes taught live from instructors around the world. I’m really excited to share this class site with you! I’m always looking for ways to improve my skills.
Right now I’m really interested in getting a pattern design and hand-dyed yarn business off the ground so I was hunting for a site that offered classes in design because I have a great idea for a yarn label, but I need extra skills to make it real. I was also looking for a class that helps explain how to get started with online businesses as a maker. The result of my search is this (although I might go back to Skillshare for the product label design class there).
The first thing you should do is check out the calendar of what is coming up, because these classes are live you’ll need to see the schedule to know what is being offered and when.
At some point you’ll get a pop up that wants you to sign in or create an account. You can easily create an account with F-connect for Facebook. Or you can choose to do the sign up with your e-mail address – this will require you filling out a form with a working e-mail address and creating a password for the site. I chose to F-connect.
You can also close out of the pop up and keep browsing the site and then use the blue Sign Up button to create an account later. An account allows to RSVP for live classes. For example, I RSVP’d for the Start a Handmade Business class that is being offered June 2nd through the 4th.
So what kinds of classes can you take? They offer classes in the following categories: Photo & Video, Art & Design, Music & Audio, Craft & Maker, and Money & Life.
I hope you’ll take advantage of these awesome offerings of free classes! I can’t wait to start mine in June!
