Q:
You know what I hate? E-mails that come in all caps. THEY DRIVE ME NUTS! How can I fix them?

A:
Unfortunately, I haven't come across an E-mail Caps Lock Zapper program, but there is a fix if you have WordPerfect or MS Word. First, you must copy the portion of e-mail text you want to de-capitalize and paste it into Word or WordPerfect. NOTE: With Word 2000 and newer you must have the program open before you cut & paste.

For more on Copy and Pasting, check out...
http://www.worldstart.com/tips/shared/copypaste.htm

Now, here's how to de-capitalize in each program:

MS Word:

1. Highlight the text you want to have de-capitalized.

2. Click the Format menu and select Change Case.

3. A little screen will pop-up that allows you to select what case you want. Sentence Case is probably the most appropriate.

Here's an MS Word Example:

Before:

After:

WordPerfect:

1. Highlight the text you want to have de-capitalized.

2. Click the Edit menu and select Convert Case.

3. A sub menu will give you some case changing options. You'll probably want "lowercase."

That's it. Easy reading from now on. Now, if we could just pop that stupid CAPS LOCK key off the keyboard...

Tip of the Day

Alphabetize Programs

(Note - you'll need IE 5.0 or better installed for this one—that should be most of you).

Ever wish you could have all the program groups under the Start button, Programs menu listed alphabetically? Well, save your wishes for something good, because you can! Here's how:

1. Click the Start button, Programs. Highlight any program group (i.e. menu item) that's listed there.

2. Now, just right-click and select "Sort by name" from the resulting menu.

That's it. Remember that you can still drag and drop program groups around if you want to manually specify which ones sit at the top of the list.

Amanda's Cool Site of the Day

Library Spot

Love to cozy up with a book at the library? Well why don’t you save that for when you visit your local library, because this site is full of reference information (maps, dictionaries, links to online libraries, encyclopedias and quotations).

If you need to find information, this is the best place on the web to do it. I loved the fact that I could find medical information there. Sometimes it's really hard to find exactly what I'm looking for medicinally, so I check there first.

My favorite part of this site was the "You Asked For It" section. Where you can find common questions such as "What Happened on a Particular Day in History?", "Where Can You Find Full Text Articles", "How Much Did That House Sell For?", and much more.

This site is definitely one that’s going in my favorites, why don’t you bookmark it today?
