Custom Shortcut Menus
What’s a shortcut menu, you ask? Not sure if you use them?
I’d bet that you use them all the time. You know when you’re working and you do that quick little right click? What happens?
Yep, that’s right. A small menu will open listing a few of the more useful options that are available. This is your shortcut menu.
So, now that you know you’re using it, it’s time to take a look at how to customize them. (I was only able to make these modifications in MS Word and PowerPoint).
First, you need to open the Customize window. An easy method would be to right click over any toolbar and choose Customize from the bottom of the list.
Next, go to the Toolbars tab and check the Shortcut Menus item in the list.
A floating toolbar will open displaying the categories of shortcut menus available.
When you start looking through these, you’ll find a shortcut menu for just about everything you may do while using the programs.
To customize these menus, you’d do the same work as you would for any other toolbar or menu. You could easily drag and drop commands from the command tab to any of the menus. If you’d like to rearrange the order of items in a menu, you can drag and drop them within the same menu. Drag an item off the menu to remove it completely.
When you’ve made your changes, click the Close button and you’re back in business, your way.
With the power to customize all your menus, you can really take control and handle all of your needs.
