Ever since my Poetry class last spring, I’ve been fascinated with Dante’s Divine Comedy. What’s awesome is that I’m not the only one! I found another fantastic site dedicated to his work.
This site is broken up into three main parts, just like his work is: Inferno, Purgatory, and Paradise. You can click on any of them to journey through that part of the Divine Comedy.
This is a multilayered, interactive journey. You’ll find artistic renderings, textual commentary, and even audio as you travel through the three realms of the afterlife.
To be honest, I’ve had enough of the Inferno, so I skipped it to visit other parts of the work that I was less familiar with. I have to say I love how much Dante has influenced art, and to see such an assortment of it here is awesome.
You’ll find great instructions on navigating through Dante Worlds in the paragraph below the representation of each section. I suggest reading it so you can get the most out of your visit!
Are you ready to delve into the depths of hell, find your way through purgatory, until you come out into paradise? I know I’m ready to dive in!
