Don’t Make This Mistake

As I’ve told you before, sometimes I’m horrible at taking my own advice. Like the advice to regularly back everything up. This morning my PC refused to boot up and I almost had a heart attack. I’m working on a smartphone book and all of the information, documents, and images are on that PC. And none of it was backed up. Yep, I’m that person!

Fortunately, I was finally able to get my PC up and running. You can bet the first thing I did was put a copy of all my documents onto the closest flash drive.

It was as simple as copying and pasting my documents folder, which took about five minutes.  Setting up an automatic cloud backup is also a great idea. Or getting a flash drive or external drive withautomatic backup software that allows you to choose what you want to save. Then you can just hit that backup at the end of every day and know your documents are secure.

I am running Windows 10 Home, and I have had files disappear for whatever reason, and so I put my pertinent files on Dropbox.

Redundant data backup is always the answer. I’ve had more than a few USB flash drives fail me too; along with losing, misplacing, and leaving the USB drives behind. It is good to have multiple locations for data backups which include cloud storage or other external storage.

I have been getting your email for many years and enjoy the tips and sales items. I have never lost anything important because I back up everything on 3 different external hard drives and flash drives. If one happens to not work I have two other copies.
