Double Time

Double Time

I’ve got good news! Today, you’re getting a double dose of computer tips. That’s right, it’s a two in one kind of day! I will be introducing you to two brand new programs that I found to be extremely useful. I think you’ll like them just as much as I did as well. So, let’s begin!

Do you ever leave programs running when they are checking for updates or downloading files? Or do you keep a program minimized, even though you only use it a couple times a day? If so, this nifty program I found will be perfect for you. Some programs allow you to minimize them to the system tray, but most don’t. So, this clever application, called 4t Tray Minimizer, is going to change that for good. 4t Tray Minimizer allows you to minimize any program you want to your system tray. This is a great way to save space on your computer. It does this by adding two new buttons to the upper right hand corner of every window. This way, the programs you don’t use as much don’t take up space.

One of the buttons hides the application. To open the program, just select it from the tray minimizer program. It’s as easy as that!

The other button minimizes the program straight to the system tray.

You can try out the 4t Tray Minimizer for yourself by clicking here.

Get ready for round two, because here we go!

I have a confession to make. I am a cyber loafer. What is a cyber loafer, you may ask? Well, it is a person who loafs on their computer. When I get ready to type up some notes I have taken, I may very well end up downloading a new application for my computer off the Internet. I just can’t help myself! And I know that many of you probably share this problem with me.

As hard as you may try, you always end up doing something else, such as playing a game or surfing the Web. Am I right?! Well, you will no longer have to worry about that after you see this next application. It is called Temptation Blocker. With it, you basically set a time period, select a program and then Temptation Blocker will get to work. It won’t allow you to access it, no matter what! Let’s check it out a little more, shall we?

1.) First, download Temptation Blocker from this link and install it.

2.) When it loads, you should see a screen like this:

3.) You will see a list of all the programs on your system. Go ahead and checkmark the ones you don’t want to be able to use. Since I usually begin to search the Web, I selected Internet Explorer.

4.) Now, you have to select an amount of time for Temptation Blocker to block you from those programs. I selected 0 hrs and 45 minutes to allow me enough time to get my work done. After that, I can have all the fun I want!

5.) Next, click Get Work Done and Temptation Blocker will minimize to your taskbar.

6.) If you try to access the program you have blocked while Temptation Blocker is running, you will receive a notification. When your time is up, a notification box will appear, alerting you of the change. Now, sometimes, you may finish before your time is up or maybe there’s an emergency and you need to access the program right away. If that happens, all you have to do is double click the Temptation Blocker icon in your taskbar and type in a 32 value code. Once you do that, the block will come off and you’ll be able to use that program again. The code is as long as it is, because otherwise, it would be way too easy for you to get back in.

This program will help you get more work done, trust me. It’s really a lifesaver! I hope you enjoyed both of these programs as much as I did. Enjoy your double dosage of information!
