Drawing Canvas Be Gone!
Have a newer version of MS Word?
What happens when you go to insert a drawing object?
Wait! Let me guess, you get something called a drawing canvas?
Looks like this?
Now, I’m sure there’s a reason for this thing, but for the life of me, I haven’t found it yet.
I end up drawing something and dragging it out of the canvas, so I can then go back and delete the canvas without deleting the drawing.
What a waste of time!
Did you know that you could tell Word to stop creating the drawing canvas?
Yep, me too, so let’s take a look.
We need to get to the Options window. (Tools menu, Options choice).
Now, we need the General tab.
Uncheck the “Automatically create drawing canvas when inserting AutoShapes” choice.
That’s it! You won’t be bothered by a drawing canvas ever again. Now, if we only had something like this for certain people in our lives!
