I have seen the problem with 4 of them now. Before you buy a new DVD/CD for your computer try this. Go to your Start Orb and right click on Computer and go to Manage > Device Manager > DVD/CD-ROM drives > CD-ROM Drive. Click on the driver tab > Update Driver and click on Browse my computer for driver software. Click on Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer. Now you will see a window that says Model, click where it shows CF-ROM Drive and then next. It will show Windows has succeccfully updated your driver software. When you click Close it will tell you that you have to reboot your computer in order for the changes to take effect. I hope this helps Mark

This seems to be a common problem with Win 7 64 bit computers by Gateway. I have seen the problem with 4 of them now. Key info for me was how to distinguish between IDE and SATA drives. Simple as a photo. Thank you. But, Tim, really - your 'pricing' is so very 'retail'. Suggesting something will cost ROUGHLY $22.95 to $34.95. Really? Since it is an estimated range of the cost, doesn't the use of two decimals suggest a degree of precision that simply isn't relevant.?Part of my pet peeve in pricing is that nothing ever costs the posted price because od taxes or shipping or whatever. Wouldn't a cost of roughly $23 to $35 be sufficient? Oh well . . .

Great info.
Key info for me was how to distinguish between IDE and SATA drives. Simple as a photo.
