Easy Object move in Excel

Posted By On February 15, 2010 @ 11:12 AM In MS Excel | No Comments

If you tend to use objects such as text boxes, shapes or pictures in you workbooks then you may have, from time to time, found yourself frustrated with the process of placing it in a location that you find appealing.

In fact, if you’re at all like me then you want everything to be “just so,” which means that placing an item could take quite a while.

Here’s a little tip that may make object alignment in Excel easier than we ever could have hoped for.

Next time you start to move an object around a worksheet hold down the Alt key.

You’ll find that your object now moves around the worksheet in increments that match cell border locations allowing for quick and perfect alignment.

Oh, and as an added bonus, you’ll find that you can use the Alt key while resizing objects with the sizing handles to get the same type of incremental changes allowing you to easily cover a specific range of cells with your object.

And that’s all there is to it. The Alt key can greatly contribute to an Excel experience with a frustration level of 0!
