I had not purchased an extended warranty but it was covered under the manufacturers warranty. Had I had the extended warranty it would have covered the loss of what it cost to replace the food I had when it died. Since I didn't have the warranty it only covered the replacement of the refrigerator/freezer. I have had the replacement for more than 3 years and never had a problem. You just never know when something is going to go bad and most items have no problems. I have also purchased 3 eMachine notebooks, all of which did go bad in the first year and were covered under the manufacturers warranty.

I purchased a Sear refrigerator/freezer and six months later it went belly up. I have bought several and whatever you buy usually comes with a 1 year warranty, and when you buy a extended warranty it starts when the regular warranty does and does not start when the manufacturers warranty ends! It is a lie and ripoff!

Extended warranties are all a joke and a lie! When eventually he got fed up and had the crayon replaced so he could be a happy moron again, the first thing he said was, 'Yes, I'll take the extended warranty!'

Do you remember when Homer Simpson had a crayon removed from his brain and became a genius overnight?
